Connecting with Families at the Local Offer Roadshow Unlocking SEND Services and Support

This week, we had the incredible opportunity to attend the Local Offer Roadshow at County Hall. This event brought together a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services, allowing parents and carers to engage directly with the resources available to them. The local authority also organised activities for the children, making it a fun and informative day for families.

Meeting and speaking with so many parents, carers, and their children was truly inspiring. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as families explored the different support options available to them.

A Hub of Information and Support

The Local Offer Roadshow served as a powerful hub of information, showcasing SEND services that can make a significant difference in the lives of families.

During the event, many parents and carers seized the chance to ask questions and gather essential resources. It was heartening to see families taking the initiative to seek knowledge that could help them navigate the complexities of SEND.

Engaging Activities for Children

While parents were busy gathering information, the Local Offer Roadshow ensured that children had an enjoyable experience. The local authority organised various engaging activities that kept the little ones entertained and involved.

From arts and crafts to interactive games, these activities were designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all children. This thoughtful approach made the event more enjoyable for families and fostered a sense of community among attendees.

Building Connections

One of the most rewarding aspects of the Local Offer Roadshow was the chance to connect with other families. Many parents shared their personal stories, challenges, and triumphs, creating a supportive setting where everyone felt understood.

These connections are invaluable; they allow families to exchange resources, advice, and encouragement. The sense of camaraderie among parents and carers was strong, reminding us that we are not alone on this journey.
