Last Wednesday (3rd February), two members of our Admin Team attended the Local Offer Live event with our SEND Hub stand. It was another valuable opportunity to gather parental voice and hear directly about families’ lived experiences within the world of SEND.

A wide range of topics were raised throughout the event, including:

• Children struggling to access education in mainstream settings and the process for requesting specialist provision

• How to apply for an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA)

• Support for children experiencing extreme anxiety

• Concerns around proposed changes to education and SEND legislation

• Access to after-school clubs and wider opportunities for children and young people with SEND

• Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

• SENIF funding

• Gathering appropriate evidence to support applications

We were pleased to offer support, advice and signposting to families, along with copious amounts of SEND Hub sticky notes and our ever-popular googly-eyed bug bookmarks!
