Clear communication and transparency are essential when multiple agencies work together to support families and children. This week, our team took important steps to improve how we engage with multi-agency panels and how we listen to parents’ experiences. These efforts will help us build stronger connections, improve policies, and ensure that families feel heard and supported.

Preparing to Attend Multi-Agency Panels

Our recent training focused on equipping the team to actively participate in multi-agency panels starting in the new year. These panels bring together professionals from different services to discuss cases and coordinate support. By attending, our team will help shape how information is shared and how transparent the process is for families.

This preparation means we can contribute effectively to discussions and advocate for better communication standards. Our goal is to make sure families are fully informed and involved in decisions that affect them.

Listening to Parents with EOTAS and Personal Budgets

We recently held a meeting for parents whose children receive Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) or have personal budgets. This session was an opportunity to hear directly from parents about their journeys, challenges, and successes. Their stories provide valuable insight that helps us shape policies and procedures that truly reflect lived experiences.

We want to thank everyone who attended and shared their experiences. Your voices are crucial in helping us improve. We are also planning a follow-up meeting with Michelle White to continue this important conversation. Watch this space for details.

Addressing Contact and Communication Issues

Thank you to everyone who completed the SENA contact survey. The survey revealed clear and strong evidence of poor contact and communication between families and services. We have presented these findings to SENA, and they are now investigating the issues raised.

This feedback highlights where improvements are urgently needed. We will keep you updated on progress and any changes made to improve communication channels. Our commitment is to ensure families receive timely, clear, and helpful information.

Moving Forward Together

By attending multi-agency panels and actively listening to parents, we are building a foundation for better communication and transparency. These efforts will help create a more supportive environment where families feel respected and informed.

If you are a parent or carer with experiences to share, please stay involved. Your input shapes the services and policies that affect your family. Together, we can make sure communication improves and that transparency becomes the norm.
